Hi! I’m Amanda, welcome to my blog! I created this site to help support adoptive parents, foster parents, special needs parents, social workers and anyone else venturing through the trenches on their parenting journey.
I am a mom to 8 beautiful children, all through adoption and fostering. Four of them are under the age of 5 so….my life is rather chaotic. I am a social worker by trade, by heart, and by passion. I also run an adoption organization, a Canadian charity focused on bringing awareness, education, and support for all things adoption and foster care related.
I love to dance. I make my husband ballroom dance with me whenever I can. Let’s be honest though, since jumping past 4 children that is usually never. I love to read. I binge read whenever I can, usually foster care novels, though I also love true crime and biographies. I am secretly a lover of all European history, and if I could have a new accent it would be Scottish. I recently acquired one square foot of land in Scotland and can now add the title Lady to my name. Laundry rules my life and food doesn’t last long in my home. I adore cat videos but I won’t admit that anywhere but here. My life is crazy, chaotic and just plain lovely. I wouldn’t change it for the world and I hope you enjoy the resources and supports I have to offer and get a chuckle from the glimpse inside my lovely crazy life!
